At the end of the day, when I am at home, Ginger always asks me the question, ‘Did you breathe today?’ Breathing here means doing that one single activity that makes you feel alive, where you are totally into it and so immersed in enjoying every second of that moment. It can be the smallest thing, like watering a plant or just gazing at a star or the moon.
It’s nothing to do with fancy stuff or something out of the box. You can simply sit with closed eyes and try to be present in that moment.
It’s important to remember that life extends beyond screens and schedules.
Many times I question myself if that is the dream I am chasing or just the trend I am following.
Is the pressure making me hustle? On social media, everyone appears to be successful, multitasking, active, and happier than ever before.
Is it jealousy over their progress, or is it just the constant noise telling me to “do more”?
My work or studies never end the moment I step out of the building; my phone is constantly beeping messages and emails. and my mind sent this notification. Have a look, or you will have FOMO.
Even after constant chasing and doing all things— whenever I look at others, I still feel that the grass is greener on their side.
Hustling is a new normal even though technology has made life faster and more convenient. Today, being “busy” has become a status symbol. Gen Z and millennials are often praised for being overloaded, as if taking rest is something to feel guilty about.
I am sure most of you will agree with me; sometimes technology just adds more stress and expectations.
Honestly, I feel guilty just for resting, sleeping in extra, or enjoying simple moments. But I’m starting to realise—I’m human. I can’t be productive 24/7. It’s okay to slow down and do things that are not going to help you in this world.
I started to feed stray cats every day. Spending time with these creatures, talking and understanding their lives, feels like adding a day of more life to this limited time.
Paused your phone and just… breathed. “Phone fasting” is my new practice, and it’s changing how I see the world—and myself.
Phone fasting has made space for so much more joy.
Remember: Achievements aren’t measured by likes, and it’s okay to pause, breathe, and live for ourselves—not the audience online. Protect your peace, take breaks, and be present.
The world can wait. Your wellbeing shouldn’t.
Ginger keeps reminding me that at the end it’s all ZERO.
So here’s my promise to Ginger: a little less screen time, a little more real life.
Thank you for stopping.
